Ole Henriksen Vitamin Plus Creme

So since winter in MN is nothing nice it has taken it's toll on my poor skin, so my old moisturizer just was not cutting it. So off to Sephora I went for a light moisturizer with hydration and that won't make my face look like an oil slick any more than it already does. So I came home with quite a few of samples and ended up with the Ole Henriksen vitamin plus mattifying creme.

What I say:
I love this stuff, I find that it moisturizes without leaving your skin oily. I do not think it mattifies my skin it just leaves it feeling normal, hydrated and maybe a tad bit dewy. I have been using it day and night but I think I am going to try something different for daytime that may help with oil production more than this does.

The label states that it contains 18 essential skin nutrients that help comprise this sheer feeling creme. It comes with a decent price point at $35 for 1.7fl oz. It has a nice light smell and it is definitely a creme but feels very light and absorbs pretty quickly. I am not sure I will use this once we hit summer again, but for now this is a keeper. I also have not noticed any extra breakouts or other skin problems and I have been using this for the last 3-4 weeks at least.

Sephora says:
What it is:
Ideal for those who don't want a heavy moisturizer, but crave intense hydration, this dewy, light creme infuses skin with potent antioxidants and herbs, imparting a radiant glow.

$20 makeup tag?....yea right!

So consider this my realistic $20 makeup tag or consider this a start up kit ideas. This tag has been going around YT for the last few months and everytime I watch I think to myself "How could anyone spend just $20 on a full face?" So I tried to keep it do-able and set a limit of $100, and boy once I started brainstorming it was even harder than I thought. So here is the list I came up with including drug store items and mid/high items.

Face:
L'Oreal BB Cream- $7.99
MAC prolong wear concealer- $18.00
Maybelline Dream matte powder- $6.94
ELF flat top powder brush- $3.00
MAC Mineralized blush- $23.50

Eyes:
NYX HD primer- $6.00
Maybelline color tattoo- $5.94
Wet N Wild eye shadow trio- $2.99
L'Oreal Voluminous mascara- $5.84
ELF eye shadow brush- $1.00

Lip:
Aquaphor Healing Ointment $4.79
Mac lipstick- $15.00

Grand total $100.99
These are all full priced items found in my local Target and from maccosmetics.com. So clip your coupons and try to find a sale so you can add something else with all the money you saved!

The finished product:
Face: BB cream as primer, Mac concealer (I used NC35) mixed with a bit of concealer for foundation, Matte powder (I used medium 2.5) to finish.
Eyes: NYX HD primer, color tattoo (bad to the bronze) on the lid, MAC blush (fad-dabulous) in the crease, WNW trio (Walking on Eggshells) used as a highlight. L'Oreal voluminous maascara.
Lips:  MAC Plum Dandy

*small rant* I don't want to say I hate the L'Oreal voluminous mascara but I was not to impressed. It clumps alot in my opinion, but gives fairly good length and volume. But I spent way to much time trying to get it to work for me to appreciate it. I would spend the extra $2 and get the double extend from L'Oreal, I think it works so much better and didn't have to worry about clumping or raccoon eyes. After these pictures the voluminous mascara hit the garbage.

They told me I have klout!

So many of you I am sure know about the new website called klout. I personally have no clue where it came from or how it really works but I signed up and cashed in on a free perk! I received a free Essie polish in penny talk. So please comment below if you know how "klout" works. I have always been a fan of Essie polish's and this one did not disappoint me at all. Sorry for the horrible shadows you see. I am still working on lighting.

August Favorites

Welcome to September! So I thought since this is my very first blog post that I would start it off with my August favorites of the month.

It has been super hot here in Minnesota this summer so I have been trying to keep my makeup very minimum. So first up would be the Macadamia Healing oil treatment; this product gives me moisture, shine, and hopefully keeping my hair healthy. So because of my super oily skin I have been on the search for a moisturizer that will help my skin not produce so much oil; in came Clean and Clear dual action moisturizer , this is one of the only products that moisturizes but does not leave me looking like an oil slick. Estee Lauder double wear in Tawny; this has been a life saver for me. I could go on and on about how great the coverage is and how it leaves me matte for most of the day (maybe I will do a review on this) Mally mascara is one of my HG mascaras, it does everything it brags about and stays on all day does not flake or give me raccoon eyes  because of my oily skin. Who does not know about Urban Decay primer potion; nuff said. Last but not least L'oreal infallible eye shadows (keep scrolling it gets better)

So I own quite a few of the L'oreal 24hr infallible eye shadows but the ones I am going to show you are my go to ones, I think I wore these almost daily through out the month on August. They are as follows (L to R) Amber Rush, Bronzed Taupe, and Iced Latte. Well this will close it out for August, thanks for bearing with me on my first blog. I will hopefully get better with time and my computer skills will improve!
